You do not need to be a housing-insecure person to qualify! If something has been holding you back from working, such as housing, personal challenges, money, school, a lack of experience, or just not knowing where to start, Work Ready Alaska is built for you.

For the Work Ready Alaska program, We Build Alaska found a shared purpose alongside our friends at Covenant House Alaska. A collaborative partnership formed between these entities to strengthen and empower our combined services, allowing our collective actions to empower young people across the state.
We Build Alaska believes everyone has valuable skills and a creative spark inside them, and through this program, our collaboration with Covenant House Alaska will help ensure a safe, stable future for all.
Through Work Ready Alaska, young people can access career exploration, pre-apprenticeship preparation, and connections to employers. It is a practical pathway that ends with skills in hand, and a place in the work of building Alaska. Participants get a leg-up to gain well-paid jobs in a variety of secure, rewarding skilled roles, including: construction, commercial driving, warehouse crews, deckhand and mechanic positions, aviation ground support, flagging, and MUCH MORE!
